Multimedia training involves becoming proficient in several different types of media. Multimedia generally refers to the use of several different types of media to deliver information.

These types of media are audio, still images, graphics, motion picture, text and animation. Multimedia is most often associated with computers and the internet. Multimedia training therefore, is primarily computer based.

Multimedia Training: Skills and Techniques

During multimedia training, you will learn how to configure and use several different internet and computer systems. You will also learn how to manage photographs and graphics, importing them, editing them, etc. You will also learn about digital video editing and various methods of desktop publishing. Because multimedia requires knowledge of so many different areas, it is essential that you have hands-on experience as a part of your multimedia training. You must be able to integrate the many different components into one cohesive product.

Multimedia Training: Products and Performance

Today, you can watch the news online, play a video game, watch music videos and even participate in long-distance business conferences. All of these things are done as a result of multimedia. Anything that uses more than one source of media at a time is considered multimedia, especially regarding computers and the internet.

The Future of Multimedia

The future of multimedia is bright. Because the internet and computers are becoming such an essential part of living today, multimedia professionals are more and more sought after. Nearly every business or organization that maintains a website requires a person with multimedia training to orchestrate the sound, text, images, etc. for their site. Of course there are other applications of multimedia, and the opportunities in this field are diverse.
