Many vocational or computer schools do as well. A degree in this or a related field is the bare minimum most employers will accept if you apply to become a computer scientist. Through your training, you will learn everything there is to know about programming, design, software/hardware, networking, the Internet, and advanced mathematics. In essence, you’ll become an expert in computers. Not surprising. Job Outlook for a Computer ScientistAlso not surprising is the job outlook for this specialized field. Computers have become indispensable fixtures in our lives. We rely on them day in and day out. Can you imagine a single day where you did not directly or indirectly use a computer? That would mean no banking, air conditioning, refrigerated food, hot water, or gasoline. And of course, you would not be able to use email. The point is, computer-related job openings are expected to be plentiful according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
