You may be given a reasonable amount of responsibility, however you will probably still have a more senior colleague to supervise your work until you have proved your worth.

Typical entry level positions include: marketing and sales administration assistant, marketing representative, advertising and promotions planner, assistant product manager, assistant merchandising manager, advertising account coordinator, or marketing research assistant.

Every company, be it not for profit or commercial, needs effective marketing management. Many people tend to go down either a sales or a marketing route.

If you choose sales, you could become regional sales manager, national sales manager, or even sales director. Marketing management has a slightly broader range of roles; you could become an advertising account executive, marketing manager, or product manger in charge of a stable of products.
