Marketing Training - Marketing Education
There has been much discussion as to whether marketing is an art or a science. Either way, it is essential for businesses to address what is that they are selling, for how much, and to whom. Issues such as the level of service, supply chain, and promotion are all critical to a product or service's success. This success impacts on the survival or health of a business. Important marketing training areas, neatly described as 'the five Ps of Marketing', are: product, place, price, packaging, and promotion. You could become a marketing generalist or you could specialize in a particular aspect, industry sector, or product range.
The golden rules of marketing training never change and can be applied to any service or product. The implementation of these straggles is the variable factor. You may decide to specialize in sales, fashion marketing, international marketing, fashion merchandizing, or advertising to name a few of the marketing options available. Marketing theory is easily transferred across different industries so your marketing career should be fairly resilient. If you were interested in a field where competition for jobs is intense, e.g. fashion, you would probably benefit from studying a specific fashion marketing program.
Job outlook after Marketing Training
While the days of 'a job for life' are long gone, marketing is fairly insulated against economic downturn. Your services could be used when a business is doing well, when it is making some fundamental changes, or even when trade is not going so well. Your expertise could be called upon to 'think outside the box' and implement a more economical way of doing something or to seek out an alternative customer base. A typical career path is represented by: junior product manager, senior product manger, group product manager (in charge of a stable of similar products or services), and finally marketing director - responsible for marketing strategy within a company.
